Tripping Into the Light
One day in June of 2019, at sunset it happened. A stream of light came in through the window and landed nearby on a canvas I had set up. It created a perfect path way of light. I jumped up, traced it with a pencil, and felt inspired immediately. I chose royal purple because it felt right to me and I chose yellow because of the famous “Yellow Brick Road”. I painted the pathway yellow, and put yellow static lines on the side to imply interference in life. The black specks on the pathway represent how things are messy. The deep meaning of the painting is that in life, you will trip, stumble and eventually end up where you need to be. I have seen this painting live out in my life for years and I continue to live it daily. I mess up many paths, always feel like I am doing something wrong, but believe I will end up on the right one at some point.
